Michael's Angels for Michael's Children will host the Second Annual Michael Jackson Earth and Arts Festival to celebrate the life of the great Michael J. Jackson and preserve his legacy of giving. This will be held at Riverfront Park in North Charleston on Saturday, August 27. We will collect toys, games, stuffed animals, books and soccerballs for distribution on Michael's birthday August 29, to a local orphanage and in December to the children of the world in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Plans for Haiti in December

This is a letter I received from the folks we are asking to transport our gifts up into the hills of Haiti.

Ms. Beck,

Thank you so much for your interest in serving others through the work of Remote Area Medical® (RAM)! We are looking forward to continuing our work in Haiti in the mountain community of Medor, and I am certain that the children there would be very happy to receive the gifts you mention in your message below. Although volunteers from RAM and Our Lady Queen of Peace (OLQP) Catholic Church in Arlington, VA, have made significant progress concerning accessibility of the area, transportation to the village remains very limited, and many of the supplies transported must at some point be carried by volunteers as well as villagers and/or their animals. Also, we must be sure that a majority of the items we take address the basic medical and nutritional needs of residents of Medor. That said, we would like to be able to take some of the items to the village with each trip we make. Can you please forward more information regarding the specifications of the items, shipment container, amount, and weight of the “barrel” indicated in your message? Again, we appreciate your efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of children everywhere, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Gratefully,

Happy New Year Angels

Gifts from Italy

Posted by Lorna Beck on April 2, 2010 at 6:53 AM Comments comments (0)

Michael's Angels Project and the Shelton Project received their first gift from Angel Ambassador Greta in Italy. Thanks Greta for your contribution to the children. Michael is so proud of us for taking up the ball. Together we will continue to do our bit to heal the world.

Greta sent us a fabulous children's book entitled, "in the garden" It is made of recycled paper and encourages children to plant a garden. It shows pictures of children working in the garden and eating the fruits and vegetables. This is so perfect for our Michael Jackson Environmental Prong of the Shelton Project. Thanks, thanks.
